Hi, I’m Emilia Talar, a video editor and visual storyteller with a passion for crafting engaging content and bringing ideas to life. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications (Media Production) from Ball State University, with minors in Spanish and Entrepreneurial Management.
I currently work as a Community Engagement Specialist, where my focus is creating high impact video and visual content for digital and social platforms. My work spans concept development, filming, editing, and motion enhanced storytelling for public facing communications, events, and campaigns. While I enjoy working across mediums, video editing and storytelling are at the core of what I do, finding rhythm, clarity, and emotion in every cut.
Previously, I served as the Media Center Coordinator and Production Specialist at Highland Park High School, where I led full cycle video production, supported live and recorded projects, and collaborated closely with staff and students. I also sponsored Highland Park Television (HPTV) and the Yearbook Club, mentoring students in videography, editing, and storytelling. These experiences strengthened my ability to work efficiently in fast paced environments while maintaining a collaborative, learning focused approach.
I’m proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, and regularly use Canva to design clean, effective visual assets. I have hands-on experience with full frame and mirrorless camera systems including Sony, Canon, and Blackmagic, and I’m comfortable working with professional lighting, audio, and production workflows.
Outside of my full time work, I freelance as a photographer specializing in portraits and landscapes, which continues to sharpen my eye for composition, lighting, and visual narrative.
I’m an organized, collaborative creative who values feedback, iteration, and thoughtful problem solving. When I’m not editing, you’ll likely find me learning new piano pieces or experimenting in the kitchen.
Thanks for visiting. Feel free to explore my work and reach out.
