I use design to communicate visually across print and digital platforms. From event flyers to display signage and social media graphics, I design with purpose, clarity, and creativity using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
As part of my work in the Media Center at Highland Park High School, I designed a series of educational posters aimed at helping students visually absorb foundational media production concepts. These designs cover topics like camera composition, the rule of thirds, and white balance—using clear visuals and concise language to make technical concepts more accessible.
I also created an ongoing signage series titled “What Is That?”, which pairs common media production terms with corresponding images of equipment to help students become more familiar with industry language and tools. These designs serve as both educational resources and visual enhancements within the Media Center learning environment.
As a sponsor of the Yearbook Club at Highland Park High School, I collaborated with students to design the yearbook cover and develop interior pages using Jostens Yearbook Avenue, a digital layout platform with tools similar to Adobe InDesign.
In addition to guiding students through design decisions, I contributed original page layouts—particularly for portrait sections. To creatively minimize white space, I developed custom filler content themed around school food and the cafeteria experience. I photographed meals, surveyed students, and designed fun, engaging layouts that added personality and visual interest to the pages. Examples of other page designs are included, such as survey results and overview pages, which helped capture broader student experiences and bring variety to the overall book.
These are examples of simple social media posts I created and managed for the Highland Park High School HPTV and Yearbook Club Instagram accounts. The first post promotes a livestream event, designed to grab attention quickly through bold visuals and clear messaging. The second post provides important information about yearbook and ID photos—a key piece of communication shared in both English and Spanish to ensure accessibility for Highland Park’s dual-language school community.
Each post is designed with audience engagement in mind, using platform-appropriate formatting, visual hierarchy, and bilingual content when needed. My goal is always to create clear, effective social media graphics that inform, engage, and reflect the school’s voice.
These flyer designs were created using Canva for various school-wide initiatives and events at Highland Park High School, and were distributed both digitally and in print throughout the building. Each piece was tailored to its purpose—whether promotional, informational, or celebratory—while maintaining clear messaging and engaging visuals. The examples shown include:
A promotional flyer for student film festival submission deadlines
A fundraiser campaign poster for HPTV
An informational flyer for yearbook distribution logistics
A recognition poster for student winners of the Midwest Media Educators Association Film Festival, which included placement categories and a QR code for viewers to scan and watch the winning films
Designed with the student audience in mind, these flyers balance visual appeal with clarity, accessibility, and school branding. They were shared through hallway displays, classroom posters, email blasts, and student-facing platforms to ensure wide visibility and engagement.
